Best Jobs without a Degree

There are many jobs that do not require a college degree, and some may even pay well. Here are a few examples:

  • Electrician: Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They usually complete an apprenticeship, which lasts four to five years, and must be licensed.
  • Plumber: Plumbers install and repair the pipes and fixtures that carry water, gas, and sewage in homes, businesses, and factories. Like electricians, plumbers usually complete an apprenticeship and must be licensed.
  • Web developer: Web developers design and create websites, and may also be responsible for maintaining and updating them. While some web developers have a college degree, many learn through coding boot camps, online resources, and on-the-job training.
  • Medical and dental assistant : Medical and Dental assistants typically receive on-the-job training and typically require certification.
  • HVAC technician: HVAC technicians install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in homes and buildings. They typically complete a vocational program and receive on-the-job training.
  • Real estate agent : Many states require agents to complete a certain number of hours of prelicensing education and pass a licensure exam. It is not necessary a degree but real estate salesperson or broker coursework.

These are just a few examples, and there are many other jobs that do not require a college degree. Keep in mind that some jobs may require vocational training or certifications.
