In his NFL debut vs. Washington on October 2, 2017 Butker converted 26-, 32- and 43-yard field goals.

His 43-yard field goal gave the Chiefs a 23-20 lead with four seconds left on the clock, sealing the game.

Originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (233rd overall) by the Carolina Panthers in the 2017 NFL Draft.

With 38 made field goals during the 2017 season Butker holds the franchise record for most field goals made in a single season.

The last kicker in NFL History to kick a game tying FG of 50+ yards and a FG of 40+ yards to put his team ahead for good with both coming in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter was Buccaneers K Martin Gramatica on Oct. 27, 2002.

During the 2019 season, Butker reached 147 points setting a new record for the most points by a kicker in a single season, trailing only Priest Holmes’ 162 points in 2003.
