Mouni Roy is an Indian actress, singer, Kathak dancer, and former model. She is one of the most well-known actresses, best known for her roles as “Sati” in the TV series “Devon ke Dev Mahadev” and “Naagin” in “Naagin 2: Mohabbat Aur Inteqaam Ki Dastaan.”Mouni is a very talented and hard-working actress who made her big screen debut in the 2018 movie Gold, alongside Akshay Kumar. The movie was directed by Reema Kagti. Mouni appeared in the role of Monobina Das. Her performance was praised and the movie globally earned Rs 1.5 billion. Gold emerged as a commercial success and became the first Indian film to have a theatrical release in Saudi Arabia. Mouni Roy was born on September 28, 1985, in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India. She is the daughter of Anil Roy and Mukti Roy. Her father, Anil Roy, was an office superintendent of the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad, while her mother, Mukti, was a theatre artist. Mouni’s grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy, was also a well-known Jatra theatre artist. She was born and raised in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Mouni had completed her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Baburhat, Cooch Behar, and later completed her graduate studies in English Honors at Miranda House, University of Delhi, New Delhi. Her parents wanted her to become a journalist, so she enrolled in a course in mass communication at Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi. Mouni began her career as a model and dancer in 2004 and appeared as a background dancer in the song “Nahi Hona” in Run. She started her career in 2006 with the Ekta Kapoor drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, playing the role of Krishna Tulsi opposite Pulkit Samrat. In 2015, Roy returned to television with Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural series Naagin, playing the role of Shivanya opposite Arjun Bijlani and Adaa Khan.
