Taapsee Pannu is an Indian actress who is known for acting in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films. He was born on 1st August 1987 in New Delhi, India to Dilmohan Singh Pannu and Nirmaljeet. Her father is a retired real estate agent. She has a sister, Shagun. She completed her schooling at the Mata Jai Kaur Public School, Ashok Vihar. Later, she studied Computer Science Engineering at the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology.

After completing her studies, she started to work as a software engineer.

In 2008, she auditioned for Get Gorgeous and was selected. After that, she became a full-time model. After that, she appeared in several print and television commercials. During her modelling days, Taapsee won several titles, such as “Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face” and “Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin” at the 2008 Femina Miss India contest.

In 2010, Taapsee made her film debut Telugu film, Jhummandi Naadam.

In 2011, she made her Tamil debut with Aadukalam. Vandhaan Vendraan was another Tamil release of the year. She also made her Malayalam debut that year with Doubles. Later that year, she appeared in four Telugu films, Vastadu Naa Raju, Veera, Mr. Perfect and Mogudu.

Daruvu was her only released Telugu film of 2012.

In 2013, she made her Bollywood debut with Chashme Baddoor. In that year, she starred in three Telugu films, Gundello Godari, Shadow and Sahasam. Arrambam was her only released Tamil film of the year. For her performance in the film, she won the Most Enthusiastic Performer–Female Award at the 2014 Edison Awards.

In 2015, Taapsee first appeared in the Hindi film, Baby. For her performance in the film, she got wide recognition. Later that year, she was seen in two Tamil movies, Vai Raja Vai and Kanchana 2, and one Telugu film, Dongaata.

Pink was her only released Hindi film of 2016. Her performance was highly acclaimed and it was a breakthrough performance from her. Pink marked the turning point of Taapsee’s career.

In 2017, Taapsee appeared in The Ghazi Attack, which was a bilingual film that was released in Hindi and Telugu language. She also appeared in three other Hindi films, Running Shaadi, Judwaa 2 and Naam Shabana later that year. Anando Brahma was her only released Telugu film of the year.

In 2018, she acted in four Hindi films, Mulk, Dil Juunglee, Soorma and Manmarziyaan. Her performance in Mulk was praised and earned a Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics) nomination. Neevevaro was her only released Telugu film of the year. In that year, she acted in two short films, Baarish aur Chowmein and Nitishastra.

In 2019, Taapsee appeared in Game Over, which was a bilingual film and was released in Tamil and Telugu language. Later that year, she was seen in three Hindi films, Mission Mangal, Badla and Saand Ki Aankh. Her performance in Saand Ki Aankh was highly acclaimed and she won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.

Thappad was her only released Hindi film of 2020. Again her performance was praised and she won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress nomination.

In 2023, Taapsee had two Hindi-released films, Haseen Dillruba and Rashmi Rocket. Annabelle Sethupathi was her only released Tamil film of the year.

In 2023, she starred in three Hindi films, Looop Lapeta, Shabaash Mithu, and Dobaaraa and one Telugu film, Mishan Impossible till the date.
