Dear Sir/Madam :
I had purchased a TOSHIBA LED 47L2400 television serial No. E42X21H00212L1 on 14th August, 2015 from Vijay Sales, Mumbai, India (scan of Tax invoice attached). It came with a Comprehensive warranty period of 1 year (scan of Warranty Card attached).
When the technicians from Toshiba came for installation of the TV, they advised me to purchase a Warranty Extension for 2 years more which we did (scan of Warranty Extension attached). After giving them the payment for the same, we asked them if anything else needs to be done to which they said no as all the formalities were completed.
About a week ago, the screen of the TV went blank with only the audio working. I immediately called the Customer Service Call Centre at Toshiba and was informed that the Extended Warranty was not registered as I had not sent the Unique Service Pack ID via SMS during purchase of the Extended Warranty. This was news to me as the Installation Technician did not mention any such thing. I immediately sent an e mail to cpcare [at] toshiba-india [dot] com and got a reply from Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, Toshiba India Private Limited, stating the same reason for my TV not being covered under Extended Warranty.
It is with great regret to say that a reputed company like Toshiba is not ready to keep it’s commitment of Extended Warranty due to the negligence and ignorance of Toshiba’s Technician’s. I have already paid full amount for purchase of Extended Warranty and now it seems that I am not getting the benefit of the warranty as promised by Toshiba.
I request you to look into the matter and exercise your authority to have my TV set repaired and restored back to working condition while still being covered under the extended warranty purchased by me.
