Joint pain Causes Health Conditions

There are various inexplicable reasons why your joints may pain in a day, whether you overdid your training session or have just been sitting for a long period in the same position. When you stretch and flex your muscles, joint pain caused by these common problems usually goes away on its own. However, there are instances when your joints hurt persistently for no apparent reason, and the discomfort becomes unbearable. Joint discomfort that lasts for a long time is a sign of underlying health problems that could become more serious in the future. Aside from joint pain caused by ageing, there are a number of other disorders that can harm your joints.

Osteoarthritis

The most prevalent type of arthritis that can cause bone problems is osteoarthritis (OA). The disintegration of cartilage, which acts as a cushion between the joints, causes the disorder. This age-related bone problem most commonly affects the knees, hips, neck, and lower back. Osteoarthritis is known for causing joint stiffness. It’s accompanied by other sensations such as sharp, intense aching that worsens with activity.

Previous Injury

A previous injury can also increase your chances of developing joint problems later in life. Whether your injury is treated or not, you may have bone-related disorders later in life in any instance. During the winter, the condition may become more serious. It occurs as the barometric pressure drops, causing the tissue and fluid around joints to expand, resulting in discomfort at the site of an old injury. If an old injury is causing you problems, you should see a doctor.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is another joint-related condition, but unlike osteoarthritis, it does not develop as a result of joint wear and tear. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune illness caused by a malfunctioning immune system. Inflammation and stiffness in the joints are common symptoms of this illness. When suffering from this illness, one may also experience weariness, fever, and unexplained weight loss. Rheumatoid arthritis cannot be healed because it is an autoimmune illness. Antibiotics and other prescription medications are the sole treatments available.

Hypothroidism

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland present in the front of your neck. It is responsible for producing several types of hormones for the body that helps to regulate the body’s metabolic rate, muscle and digestive function, brain development and bone maintenance. Any disruption in the quantity of the hormones produced by the body can lead to varied symptoms including joints pain. An underactive or overactive thyroid gland can also make you more prone to injuries and fractures.
