What Countries Are in the Middle East?

The Middle East is divided into several different nations with their own unique characteristics. Unlike other parts of the world, where people have similar religions, there are some differences, as well. For instance, the population of Iran and Israel is predominantly Sunni Muslim, while about two-thirds of Iraqis are Shia Muslims. The size and population of Middle Eastern countries differ as well, as do their economic history and natural resources.

The region of the Middle East is generally arid, with temperatures between 30 and 50 degrees Celsius. Arid regions are more common in the Peninsula, but there are also areas of humid and rainy weather. There are major rivers in the region, which provide irrigation for farming. There are many different countries in the Middle East, including Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq. In terms of population, they are not large.

Although the United Nations does not recognize the region as a whole, the region includes parts of Eurasia and Africa. Some countries within the Middle East include Bahrain, Cyprus, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Asian part of Turkey. In addition, there are also the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. Generally speaking, the Middle East includes countries in Southwestern Asia, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and North Africa, such as Lebanon, Western Sahara, and Tunisia.

The MENA region is an important source of global economic resources. Many OPEC nations are located within the region. However, there are many differences between the region and the West. In general, the Middle East is made up of several countries that are economically connected to one another.
