Punarnavadyarishta is an Ayurvedic medication mainly used in the management of cardiac diseases. It can also be used to treat vertigo and constipation. It is a liquid medicine containing self-generated alcohol that acts as a media and delivers active principles in the herbs.

Recommended dosage of Punarnavadyarishta
Patients suffering from these conditions should use Punarnavadyarishta in a dose of 10 ml, to be taken once or twice a day. They should increase the dose to 20 ml, once or twice a day, if the results with the lower dose are not satisfactory or if the symptoms are severe. The doses can be taken before or after food. However, it is advisable to take this medicine after meals if the patient is suffering from gastritis as it may cause an aggravation of the symptoms. Patients can take Punarnavadyarishta for a period of 1 or 2 months depending on the condition to be treated.
Side effects of Punarnavadyarishta
There are no known side effects of Punarnavadyarishta. Since this medicine is prepared from natural herbs, it is completely safe to use. It may cause a slight burning sensation in the stomach when it is taken in very high doses. Pregnant and lactating women should avoid using this medication, as its effects on the fetus and newborn baby have not been studied. Children should be given Punarnavadyarishta only after seeking medical advice.
