PM Modi Receives First Copy of Book Ramayana of Guru Gobind Singh

On 9th July 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received the first copy of the book The Ramayan of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji written by Late Baljit Kaur Tulsi. Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) has published this book.

  • KTS Tulsi gave the book to PM Modi in presence of his daughter Japna Tulsi and granddaughter Mukti Tulsi.
  • Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the 10th and last of Sikh gurus in human form.
  • He was born in Patna in the year 1666.
  • Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a spiritual master, warrior, poet, and philosopher, who was enthroned at the ‘Guru Gaddi’ at the age of 9 after his father Shri Guru Tej Bahadur Ji (9th Guru of Sikhs).

Hyderabad’s hunger activist Syed Osman Azhar Maqsusi has won the UK Government’s Point of Light Award. he has been feeding thousands of people every day as part of his food drive ‘Hunger Has No Religion.

  • He has been honored with the Commonwealth Points of Light award for his drive that helps to feed 1,500 people on a daily basis. The Commonwealth Points of Light award is for those ‘outstanding individuals who are making a change in their community.
  • Maqsusi’s NGO Sani Welfare Foundation has started the initiative in more four cities Bengaluru and Raichur in Karnataka, Cuttack in Odisha, and Goalpara in Assam.

2023 Khelo India Youth Games in Haryana

Haryana state is going to conduct the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in February 2023. prior to this, the Khelo India Youth Games was planned to organize from November 21 to December 5, 2023. however, due to 2nd wave of COVID-19, it has been shifted and will be held in the Under-18 category.

  • Around 8,500 players will come to be the part of the event of which 5,072 will be athletes, including 2,400 females and 2,672 males.
  • The State Govt also announced that BRICS Games-2023 will be conducted during Khelo India. The BRICS countries are Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
