XXXTentaction’s real name is Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy. He was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Critics and fans often credited him for his musical versatility. His music explores emo, nu-metal, trap, lo-fi, R&B, indie rock, hip hop, and punk rock. He is considered a leading figure in the emo-rap and SoundCloud rap genres, garnering mainstream attention during the mid-late 2010s.

Onfroy released his debut album, 17, on August 25, 2017. This album made number 2 on the US Billboard 200. The album was doing unexpectedly well, selling 86,000 album-equivalent units in the first week itself. On September 3, 2017, XXXTentaction announced that “Bad Vibes Forever” will be his second album, and it is still in production.

Rapper Sauce Walka released his ‘Drip God’ mixtape in which Onfroy was featured as a collaboration titled “Voss”, produced by Carnage, on August 31, 2018.

On September 27, 2018, Kanye West announced Onfroy would be a featured artist on his ninth studio album, Yandhi. Onfroy was featured in the song “Don’t Cry”. A music video was later released on what would’ve been Onfroy’s 21st birthday.

On July 21, 2019, Onfroy released another posthumous song, titled “Royalty”, which featured Bob Marley’s children, Ky-Mani Marley, Stefflon Don &VybzKartel. On October 21, 2019, the song “Hearteater” was released by Onfroy’s estate as his second single for the album.

Finally, on November 22, 2019, ‘Bad Vibes Forever’, the title track of the album, was released. The fourth studio album was finally released on December 6, 2019.
