Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, popularly known as XXXTentacion, was an American who is a famous singer, rapper, and well-known songwriter by profession. He was also known by the names X, XXX, Jah, and Young Dagger Dick. He worked on the genres Emo rap, trap, lo-fi, scream rap, SoundCloud rap, hip hop, alternative rock, and alternative R&B. He also used to play the vocals. He, though, was a controversial figure in the industry. Still, he was loved by his fans, and his death was extremely sad for people worldwide.

He was active in the industry from 2013 to 2018 and worked with some famous labels, including Bad Vibes Forever, Caroline, EMPIRE, and Capitol. He had his own self-titled YouTube channel and did associated acts with a lot of celebrities, including Members Only, Denzel Curry, Joey Badass, Ronny J, Ski Mask the Slump God, Trippie Redd, and many more. He also knows how to play the piano and guitar.

He completed his early schooling at the Margate Middle School, Florida, the US., from where he was expelled due to his violent behavior. Later, he enrolled himself at the Piper High School, Florida, the US.

Death

XXXTentacion died on 18 June 2018 in Deerfield Beach, Florida, the U.S., due to multiple gunshot wounds on the throat. He was leaving the Riva Motorsports motorcycle dealership when his car was blocked by a black S.U.V. in the parking lot itself. Two armed men approached him, took the Louis Vuitton bag having cash worth $ 50,000 in it, and killed him. He was later taken to the Broward Health North Hospital, where he was announced dead. The accused, Michael Boatwright, who pulled the trigger, Dedrick Devonshay, and a few others were arrested by the police a few days after his murder. The criminals were charged with first-degree murder without premeditation. 

His funeral was arranged, and a lot of fans participated in his funeral. A private funeral was also arranged where famous rappers were seen. He was entombed in a Mausoleum at Gardens of Boca Raton Memorial Park, Boca Raton, Florida, the U.S. 

Controversy

XXXTentacion had a lot of small and big controversies during his life. The major one for which he was famous was the one with his ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala, who accused him of sexual assault. This accusation was extremely detailed, and all his fans worldwide were shocked. After his death, a lot of articles were published regarding this, most of which said that he may not be remembered for his work but will surely be remembered for his violent behavior, especially with her ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala.

XXXTentacion was nominated for 4 awards, and he has won 2 of them. He won the 2018 American Music Award for Favourite Album – Soul / R&B for his work in ‘17’. He also won the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards for Best New Hip Hop Artist for his work in ‘XXXTentacion’. 

Apart from these, he was nominated for the 2018 American Music Awards for New Artist of the Year for his work in ‘XXXTentacion’, and the 2018 Billboard Music Awards for Top R&B Album for his work in ‘17’.

Facts and Information

Due to some problems with his mother, he majorly lived with his grandmother. When he was at the mere age of 6, he stabbed a man who was trying to attack her mother. For this reason, before going to her grandmother, he had to go to rehab and take sessions. Although, this incident of his was denied by his family members. 

In the year 2016, his father was deported to Jamaica and was jailed for 9 years in Arizona on the charges of RICO. He was caught in a sting operation performed by the Drug Enforcement Administration or the DEA. 

During his school days, he was very violent and was expelled from a lot of places, including schools as well. He claims that he was depressed and insecure during his time in high school.
