What is the ONGC Scholarship?

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation limited offers financial support to the meritorious and deserving candidates who comes from SC/ ST category to offer professional courses such as Engineering, Medical, MBA, and Masters degree in Geology/ Geophysics. However, 50% of this scholarship is for female candidates. Every year 1000 of students get benefited from this ONGC Scholarship. 

Process of applying ONGC scholarship 2023

Here are the process and steps for applying for the scholarship program. 

For that the candidates need to visit the official website of ONGC scholarship. Now hit the scholarship program to apply for the scholarship scheme. Then fill all the details asked in the form. 

Now the students can fill the required application form with the desired information with capital letters. 

Now hit the submit button. 

The candidate’s age should not be more than 30 years for applying to the scholarship program.

ONGC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The ONGC Scholarship is given to the SC/ ST candidates for study purpose by which the students can apply anywhere they want to study in India. The other eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship are given below:-

• The candidate should be from India and they should belong from SC/ ST category.
• The candidate’s age should not be more than 30 years as on November of the current academic year.
• The candidate should study their first year on Engineering/ MBBS/ MBA/ Masters in Geology or Geophysics from any institute like AICTE/ UGC/ MCI/ State University/ State Education Board/ Central University/ Central Government Institution.
• Candidates who are studying Engineering/ MBBS should have scored at least 60% of marks in their 12th examination from any recognised board/ institution.
• Candidates who are pursuing MBA/ Masters in Geology or Geophysics programs should have scored at least 60% of marks in the graduation level. 
• The candidate’s annual family income should not be more than Rs. 4,50,000 from all sources.

ONGC Scholarship Rewards and Benefits:

The rewards and benefits the candidates get from the ONGC Scholarship are mentioned below:-

• Candidates who get selected for ONGC Scholarship get Rs. 4000 per month.
• However, 1000 Scholarships are given every year. 
• The Scholarships are distributed stream wise as like: 494 scholarships for Engineering students, 90 for MBBS students, 146 for MBA students, and 270 for students who are pursuing Masters in Geology/ Geophysics.
• Moreover, 200 Scholarships are only for the students belonging from the North zone such as Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.
• 200 Scholarships are given to the students who are belonging from the North- East zone such as Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland.
• 200 Scholarships are for the students who are belonging from the West Zone such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Goa.
• 200 Scholarships are for the students who are from East zone such as West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Chattisgarh, and Jharkhand.
• And the last 200 Scholarships are for the students who are from South zone such as Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep, Kerala.

Scholarship amount under the ONGC scholarship

The scholarship amount varies according to the national and international level position.

At National Level, the scholarship amount is given below.

Sub Junior- Rs. 15,000/- p.m.

Junior- Rs. 20,000/- p.m.

Senior- Rs. 25,000/- p.m.

At International Level, the scholarship amount is given below.

Sub Junior- Rs. 20,000/- p.m.

Junior- Rs. 25,000/- p.m.

Senior- Rs. 30,000/- p.m.

ONGC Scholarship Application Process:

The candidates can apply for the ONGC Scholarship through online and offline mode, there is no other mode to apply. The step by step procedure is given below:-

• Eligible and interested candidates can apply for this scholarship using the official website of ONGC Scholarship.
• Candidates should download the application form from the website.
• Candidates should fill the application the very carefully with all the required details in the application form (All in Capital Letters)
• Candidates should check the application form again and again to avoid rejection on the verification time by the authorities.
• The candidates should attach all the required documents with the application form.
• The candidate should attach all the required documents in an envelope along with the application form and send it to the designated ONGC office of the respective zone based on the location of the college/ university where the candidate pursue their education.

Steps to apply offline for the ONGC Scholarship

• Students need to download and take the print out of the application form that is available on the official website 
• Students need to fill all the details that are asked in the application form
• Also, they need to attach all the documents along with passport size photograph
• After completing all the requirements, students need to enclose the form in the envelope and submit it to ONGC LTD., Green Hills Tel Bhavan, Dehradun – 248003

ONGC Scholarship Documents Required:

The documents that are required to submit along with the application form are mentioned below:-

Candidates who are filling ONGC Scholarship form must ensure that the procedure is incomplete without necessary documents. They need to submit all the required documents after the procedure of filling of application form. The list of such important documents are given below, please have a look:

• Income Certificate
• Copy of PAN Card
• Bank Details (in the prescribed format)
• Mark Sheet of the last qualifying examination
• Passport size photograph of an aspirant in the correct format
• Caste Certificate
• Birth Certificate/ Class 10 Mark Sheet

ONGC Scholarship Selection Process:

Candidates will get selected on the basis of these requirements:-

• The company select the final list of candidates for the ONGC Scholarship 
• Candidates who are pursuing Engineering/ MBBS courses their selection is done on the basis of the performance obtained by the student in their class 12 examination.
• Candidates who are pursuing MBA degree or a Masters course in Geology or Geophysics, their selection process is done based on the performance in their graduation level.
• In case, if two candidates score the same marks then the one who have lower family income will get selected.
• Below Poverty Line (BPL) families will get more preference over others.
• If there is minimum number of candidates from the BPL families could meet all the criterias then only other candidates get selected for the scholarship.

ONGC Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

There are some terms and conditions which you need to fulfill before applying for the ONGC Scholarship.

• Candidates who are applying for ONGC Scholarship should not apply for any other sort of financial Scholarship.
• The candidates who have received the scholarship should give their best performance in academic in the final year as well as their good behavior will also be seen to continue benefiting from the scholarship throughout the course.
• The candidates should score at least 50% of marks in their qualifying examination to be able to continue their Scholarship amount.
• If the Scholarship gets discontinued then then candidates can apply for the renewal by applying in the renewal form. The only criterion is that the candidate must obtain the required marks in the previous examinations. The candidate must meet all the criteria mentioned by the officials before applying for the scholarship.
• The renewal of the scholarship form is mandatory if you want to continue the scholarship ahead. During the renewal of the scholarship, the candidate has to change the qualification details, fill in the percentage scored in the previous class, and upload documents such as income certificate, and fee receipt for the current year.

ONGC Scholarship Disbursement

• The amount for the scholarship i.e. Rs 4000 per month will be provided to students
• The amount of scholarship will be directly deposited into the student’s bank account through the facility of ECS
• If the students back out from the scholarship after the award of the ONGC scholarship, then they need to pay back the scholarship amount which was received by the ONGC Foundation.
• The students must apply to the ONGC Scholarship only if it is necessary and genuine.

ONGC Scholarship Result:

The ONGC Scholarship result will declared on the official website of ONGC. The applicants should visit the official website of ONGC to get the final list of applicants who are selected for the beneficiaries. The documents will be verified after the declaration of result and all the selected candidates will be awarded.
