Sikkim State University

The central university of Sikkim which was constructed under the parliament act of India. The university is situated in Gangtok. The university campus is located in Yangang. Yangang has situated nearby the Sikkim district. The distance is around 56 kilometers from the Sikkim. Along with the first chancellor of the university named is M.S Swaminathan. Together, with the first vice-chancellor name, is Mahendra P. Lama. The University is approved by UGC, AICTE, NCTE, BCI, PCI and MCI.

• The university was started in the year 2006. It consist of six schools i.e. School of Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Languages and Literature, Human Sciences and Professional Studies.
• The university plays an important role. All the colleges of Sikkim states are affiliated to the Sikkim State University
