How To Stop WordPress From Creating New Image Sizes in Media Files Folder

If you are using WordPress for your website then this tip is very important for you. Generally WordPress CMS creates various image sizes and save it on your server when you upload any image file. These files occupy server and sometimes local servers show errors. So Here is the trick to make some changes in media settings.

In order to prevent WordPress software from creating these three sizes images and occupy your server, You can follow the below steps to tweak it.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Then media
  3. You will see three options as Thumbnail size, Medium size, Large size
  4. You need to turn all the values to “zero” like the image below

 

Note : Every time you upload a picture to your website, WordPress automatically creates some resized pictures to feed the header, featured image, homepage thumb and recommended stories. Besides that, wordpress software even creates three resized photos when you upload a picture.
