Delay during pre-production to During production
The release of Jersey has been moved seven times from the original date of the film (28 August 2023) to the present time (14 April 2023), due to the Covid-19 epidemic and fears of the omicron variant.. after also it was scheduled to be theatrically released on on 5 November 2023. It was later on again finalised for cinema release on 31 December 2023. Finally The movie would release digitally on streaming platform on 14 April 2023.
Official announcement was made on 14 October 2019 which confirm all the cast and crew And Mrinal Thakur were selected to cast in the film. Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapoor was selected to play the role of the coaching idol before the main photo shoot started on December 14, 2019 in Chandigarh.
