For one year, it went on like this. It seemed that he was becoming stronger and more capable in the physical spaces he occupied. As he had essentially dropped out of school by the eighth grade, his only educators were concrete, sticks, and a spinning wheel.

Williams was 15 years old when he wanted to join a gym, but was not allowed. There was a minimum age of 16 to enter gyms on Saint Martin. His mother, who works as a waitress to make ends meet, was also ready for a change. Three years had passed since they were reunited, yet the Caribbean still wasn’t their home.

Together, they returned to the Bronx. As soon as he enrolled in the gym, Williams began working at a restaurant to pay for his membership. Two things became crystal clear to him after a year of lifting weights: First, he was stronger than any grown man in his gym, and second, it is what he would do for the rest of his life.

At the age of 18, he competed in his first RPS Powerlifting meet.

A 247-pound contestant won the 275-pound weight class while weighing 247 pounds. He has been winning and setting new records ever since. He set a raw, combined world record of 2,275 pounds in November 2017, roughly the weight of two polar bears.

In 2018, he competed in his first bodybuilding competition, the NPC Gold Coast Muscle Classic in California. He won with this competition, as well.
