Deepika Padukone is an Indian actress who is known for acting in Hindi films. She was born on 5th January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Prakash Padukone and Ujjala. Her father was a former professional badminton player, Her mother is a travel agent. She has a sister Anisha. Ramesh Padukone, her paternal grandfather was a secretary of the Mysore Badminton Association. Deepika did her schooling at Sophia High School. Later she enrolled at Mount Carmel College. Later she enrolled to pursue her B.A. in Sociology at Indira Gandhi National Open University, but she dropped out in the middle. From a young age, she wanted to be a badminton player. She did an acting course at Anupam Kher’s film academy. 

She started her career as a badminton player and played in national-level championships. She also played baseball in a few state-level tournaments.

When she was just eight years old she appeared in some advertising campaigns. Then she gained recognition after appearing in a Liril soap television commercial. 

In 2005, she won the “Model of the Year” award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards. In 2006, she gained more popularity when she appeared in the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar. In that year, she was seen in the music video Naam Hai Tera. She made her film debut that year with Kannada film Aishwarya. In 2007, Deepika made her dream debut in Om Shanti Om. It was a breakthrough film for Deepika. She was praised for her performance. With her performance, she won Filmfare Best Female Debut Award and get nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

In the next year, she was seen in Bachna Ae Haseeno. In 2014, Deepika made her Tamil debut with Kochadaiiyaan. • On 14th September 2014, the Times of India tweeted, “OMG: Deepika Padukone’s cleavage show.” After that, Deepika slammed the Times of India’s tweet for the inappropriate heading.
