The new syllabus of Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer exam is as follows-

The competitive examination for selection of Assistant Prosecution Officer will be of three steps:-

Preliminary examination

It will consist two question paper and both have 1OO(one hundred) marks. The question paper will be in Hindi and English language. Both question paper will be objective and multi-optional. Each question paper will

be for period of two hour in which 1OO (one hundred) question will be asked. One mark shall be given for every correct answer and 1/4 (quarter) mark shall be deducted for every wrong answer.

The preliminary examination will be only for

test by which candidates will be short listed for main examination.

So the marks obtained in preliminary

examination will not be included to the marks obtained in main examination.

It will be necessary to qualify in this examination and minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the commission.

Syllabus of preliminary examination

Syllabus of preliminary examination will as follows:

First Paper – General Studies

This Paper includes questions from following subjects-

  • General knowledge 
  • current affairs, 
  • General Science, 
  • Indian History and Culture, 
  • Indian Polity and 
  • Geography. 

All questions related to above mentioned subject will be such type which may be answered without any special study.

Second Paper- Law

In this paper questions will be asked

from the following subjects-

  • Indian Penal Code 1860, 
  • Indian Evidence Act. 1872,
  • Criminal Procedure Code 1973 
  • Fundamental Knowledge of Indian Constitution.

Main Examination

It includes following Papers-

  1. First Paper General Studies 100 marks
  2. Second Paper Hindi Language 100 marks
  3. Third Paper English Language 100 marks
  4. Fourth Paper Indian Penal Code, 1860 150 m arks
  5. Fifth Paper Indian Evidence Act, 1872 150 marks
  6. Sixth Paper Criminal ProcedureCode, 1973 150 marks
  7. Seventh Paper Other Laws 150 marks.

Detail syllabus of mains exam

Syllabus of main examination will be following and Questions related to

subject will be subjective in nature and every paper will be for a period of  three hour.

First Paper : General Studies

This Paper includes.

  • General knowledge (including current affairs),
  • General Science,
  • Indian History and Culture,
  • Indian Polity and
  • Geography.

All questions related to above mentioned subject will be such a typew which may be answered without any special study,

Second Paper : Hindi Language

The level of this paper will be same as continuous study from Class fourth and above as per prescribed in Bihar School Examination Board. In this paper

candidates are required to express their feelings correctly in easy Hindi on acquainted subject matters, In this paper minimum thirty marks is necessary to qualify, Qualified candidates in this paper will be eligible for written examination and the mark obtained in this paper will not be added in merit list.

Third Paper :  English language

In this paper candidates are required to express his feelings correctly in easy English on acquainted subject matters.

In this paper minimum thirty marks is necessary to qualify, Qualified candidates in this paper will be eligible for written examination and the mark obtained in this paper will not be added in merit list.

Fourth Paper : Indian Penal Code 1860.

Fifth Paper : Indian Evidence Act, 1872.

Sixth Paper : Criminal Procedure Code 1973.

Seventh Paper  : Other Law

In this paper questions will be

asked from following Acts:-

  • Arms Act, 1959.
  • Explosive Substance Act, 1908.
  • Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.
  • Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
  • Schedule Casts and Schedule Tribe (atrocities prohibition) Act, 1989. 
  • Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Note:- The level of questions in serial number (IV to VII) will be as prescribed in LL.B. Examination of Patna University.

Interview

It will be of maximum 100 (One Hundred) Marks. 

The commission will decide the ratio of number of candidates on the basis of marks obtained in written examination and number of vacancies for which written examination has been conducted.

The commission will prepare the merit list of qualified candidates on the basis of total marks obtained in written examination and interview.
