Panchkula Police Strict on Consumption of Liquor at Public Places

Panchkula Police have arrested 34 people in 19 FIRs in a special drive in three days. The drive was started after cops received multiple reports of public nuisance after liquor consumption. As many as 30 people were arrested in 15 cases of public nuisance, three for the consumption of liquor at public places.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Mohit Handa has appointed assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Satish Kumar and ACP Noopur Bishnoi as in-charge for the drive-in urban areas. The police identified three spots for public drinking at Sector 5 (near hotels, restaurants and a liquor vend), a few empty parking lots in Sector 14 and Sector 20 and places near Rajiv Colony and Indira Colony.

Panchkula police promise such drives in future too and It will help to restrict people from creating ruckus in public area after drinking.
